Job Description:
Experience anywhere from 3 years and up is good. If
someone’s green, they need to be very, very sharp.
PowerShell is useful, as is any actual programming/scripting
experience. If someone’s resume reflects a C# class in
undergraduate, that’s not what I mean.
As far as certs go, CCNA, CCNP, Network+… in any case, they need to
have a greater than fundamental understanding of networks. The same
is true of desktops and operating systems.
The role is really a jack of all trades. Any given day they may be
setting up iPhones, connecting laptops to docs, troubleshooting
network issues, building software packages, and, as you guessed it,
trying to automate things using tools like PowerShell, SCCM, and
GPO.
